Scott Atlas Shrugged: A Dystopian Reality
We are living in a country that continues to deteriorate more and more into, and eerily feels like, the dystopian society depicted by Ayn Rand.
Scott Atlas Shrugged, anyone?
No, I never read Atlas Shrugged or The Fountainhead. But I have read enough about Ayn Rand's philosophy of Objectivism to be chilled by the similarities.
The continued firing, displacement, or undermining of expertise in this administration continues to amaze me.
And scare the shit out of me.
With that as a soothing intro, I have a question:
When is a spade not a spade?
Well, when you play a Joker card in its place.
Sure, the Joker CAN be included in a deck of cards. But seriously, what respected card player would want to do so?
If you need a Joker to stack the deck in your favor, well, that is just sad.
Remember when I said licensed does not mean qualified? Shit, in this case even being board-certified does not mean diddly.
THIS is another extreme example of what I was talking about.

Scott Atlas, a NEURORADIOLOGIST, is now sitting on the COVID Task Force with an equal seat de jure to Fauci and Birx, but de facto will have an outsized influence on COVID policy moving forward.
And no, it does NOT matter if he is a well-respected and published physician from Stanford.
THIS IS NOT HIS AREA OF EXPERTISE. AT ALL.
You would NEVER want an infectious disease doctor to read the imaging studies of your brain because they would be totally CLUELESS, and they could miss something that could potentially KILL YOU.
And thus logic - and holy shit is there a dearth of this that exists in our society - dictates
you would NEVER want a neuroradiologist to direct how a pandemic should be handled because they would be totally CLUELESS, and they could miss something that could potentially KILL YOU.
I know numerous radiologists around the country who are doing a collective 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ with this announcement.
