I don't usually link to articles like this, but this pretty much sums up the mentality of a not-insignificant minority of the population when it comes to COVID.
And cheers to Texas for being a good sport and volunteering to be one of the first to be ridiculed 🍻:
Also, the dexamethasone study is a positive one, but it isn't like it has never been used in COVID patients before. Some ICUs had already been selectively using it in some of the sickest patients, but this is the first large study that has shown an overall reduction in mortality in those same patients. As a result, it will likely now become a standard of care, and not determined just by clinician judgment.
And as the study also mentioned, this benefit only works in the SICKEST patients, those requiring oxygen or intubation.
SO DO NOT ASK YOUR DOCTOR TO PRESCRIBE IT TO YOU BECAUSE IT WON'T HELP AND STEROIDS ARE NOT GOOD TO TAKE WILLY-NILLY ANYWAY.
Love you 😘.
